Reflect this and that

1. Overall, when you think about the big picture of your writing, what improved? How did it get better? Why?

The area that i did the most improving on would have to be getting critiques. Normally my mentality was like "i wrote it, its from the heart 3 critiques are okay but its good the way it is" but i realized even the best of the best writers go through many drafts and listen to others. Im not naturally a productive listener...but its all a learning process.

2. Overall, when you think about the big picture of your writing, what still needs work? What do you think will help you improve? Why?

I still think my headline is horrible. Its improved but it still could be better but after going through 20 headlines it honestly was my best. A headline is what draws the reader in i honestly think its the most important part of the paper. And i couldn't get it right so to me it messed up my whole paper.

3. Specifically, show us something that improved and describe the path it took to get better. You can quote your article, your drafts, link to evidence, etc.

Honestly i can see the improvement from draft to draft. But the real improvement in my writing is a mystery. I wont fully know how i have improved until i write and critique my next paper. My personal improvement isn't clear to me in my writing, however i can see my critiques on other people's papers have become more relevant. So i know im learning something because I'm becoming a better critiquer.

4. Describe something specific (or a few things!) that you learned about writing.
I learned that when you are in a class, it is a community of learners. Your teacher may always have the answer, but regardless you should put faith in your fellow citizens of the class and ask them too. That makes them better teachers which helps them learn. It also helps you so that when somebody comes to you, you can share your knowledge with them. i think this makes sense comment me if you would like to challenge my statement.

Magazine Reflection

1. What went well for you during the process of creating this magazine?

I think getting a one-on-one critique session with Karima was the only thing positive i got out of this project. It improved my paper a lot more and watching and listening to what she had to say was a lot more effective than passing my paper around to kids around the classes and just getting it back.

2. What challenges did you face as you moved from an early draft or idea to a final product?

I had a hard time staying focused because the project was just so long and too dragged out to me that i just cant stand it anymore. especially because from the beginning i said i didnt wanna do a magazine in the first place next year if we have to do a magazine im really going to think outside of the box to see how to make it different.

3. What other examples of work—student and professional—stood out as exemplary and served as a good model for your own work?
I really liked Wyatts layout for his paper whoever did it. I felt like it was clean cut and stood out as a pretty page. I didnt read his article but im sure people would
